Also located in Ambleside, this project involved creating a single-storey extension to provide the client with a dedicated music room — a bright and inspiring space designed for both relaxation and creativity.
The vision was to create a light-filled room that felt like a natural extension of the original home. Large roof lanterns were incorporated into the design to flood the space with natural daylight and create a warm, open atmosphere throughout the day.
The client wanted the extension to blend seamlessly with the property while still introducing a subtle modern element. To achieve this, the exterior was built using traditional Lake District slate stone, ensuring the addition complemented the original building.
A standout feature of the design is the opening corner of the extension, allowing the interior space to flow directly out into the garden. This creates a strong connection between the house and outdoor space, making the garden feel like part of the living area and perfectly suiting the client’s lifestyle.
